A person with significant control is an individual who ultimately owns or controls a UK company - commonly through holding more than 25% of shares or voting rights, or the right to appoint or remove directors. PSCs must be identified on the public register at Companies House.
Why does PSC matter for founders?
The PSC register cannot simply be left blank; if there is no identifiable PSC you must file a statement explaining why. PSCs are also within the scope of Companies House identity verification requirements.
